“LEAVES”

a new public sculpture for Staple Hill Library in Bristol

This sculpture of six coloured “leaves of paper” was inspired by discussions with
Staple Hill Library staff about the historical landmark known as the “Staple
Hill Oak”.
The flying leaves represent pages of history, literature and culture kept
alive within the library, where we can look into the past of our shared
community, and take those memories forward into a common future.
