Kate Tempest wins the Ted Hughes prize

Kate Tempest has won the 4th Ted Hughes Prize for “Brand New Ancients“, awarded to the poet who has “made the most exciting contribution to poetry in the last year”. Performance poets are only recently being recognized for their contributions to poetry and literature generally, but Tempest has always bridged the intangible gaps between spoken word, music and conventional publication.
