THE CHARLES CAUSLEY FESTIVAL
Friday 7th – Sunday 9th June, various venues
The festival will take place in Charles Causley’s home town of Launceston. The programme includes a wide ranging variety of events. Sir Andrew Motion will be reading from his latest work. Charles’s nephew, Jim Causley, and friends will entertain with music. Bob Tinker’s Jazz Prophets will be here on the Saturday evening and there will be workshops, an art exhibition by Gwynngalaarts, and entertainment throughout the weekend.
Indian King Poets will be reading in the Poetry Tent from 5pm on Friday 7th and 2pm on Sunday 9th – this is hosted by Barefoot and there are open mic slots.

INTRODUCTION TO POETRY THERAPY & THERAPEUTIC WRITING

A three-day training course aimed at practitioners who might want to use literature and writing in their work but also open to those with a personal interest in combining the close reading of poems, mindfulness practice and writing in response. Quarry Week
Saturday 27 July
Some of the Indian King Poets will be working in a privately owned quarry near Trebarwith with other artists in a variety of forms, beginning Monday 22 July, to create an exhibition/performance on Saturday 27 July. The Israeli teacher Irit Sela will be running one-to-one sessions on individual poems, employing her unique method of preparing work for oral rendition, a method IKP have found invaluable in redrafting work; she will also run a one-day workshop. If you’re interested in joining us on the Saturday, for a one day workshop with Irit, or in booking Irit for a workshop for your own group, please contact Helen Wood on indianking@btconnect.com or 01840 212161.
